1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 c. heavy cream
1 1/2 c. maple syrup
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 unbaked pie shell
whipped cream (optional)
Mix flour, heavy cream, maple syrup, butter, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened but do not boil. The mixture will look lumpy but will smooth out in the cooking. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 30 minutes or until bubbling at 350*.
